Residential quarter in Ahrensfelde – great approval

admin

Large property = great responsibility.
We were allowed to plan almost 17 hectares in Ahrensfelde. According to numerous community representatives from a wide range of political camps, the result is the “best urban development we have had on the table here so far”. Formal participation (TÖB) is therefore now starting with strong parliamentary support.
We are delighted – and for good reason:
We listened to citizens and community representatives in Ahrensfelde.
We have great partners in CKSA, GRAFT, Nöfer Architekten and our planning office BSM.
We had a lot of support from Mayor Wilfried Gehrke and his team as well as from District Administrator Daniel Kurth and his team from the Barnim district.

A few more steps and Ahrensfelde will have a church property(EKBO), a new five-form grammar school and a new, sustainable residential area with lots of greenery, different types of housing, a neighborhood square, good integration into the existing townscape and direct rail connections. Sustainability is more than just a buzzword here: woodland areas and biotopes will be preserved, priority will be given to pedestrians and cyclists, renewable energies, clever rainwater management, etc., all of which will be available on Ulmenallee in future.

Thanks to the municipality of Ahrensfelde, we, especially our project manager Roger Materne, enjoy planning more than just the next faceless single-family home development.

KIM now a DGNB member

KIM

As this is now our fifth DGNB-certified project, it was high time that we also became a member of the German Sustainable Building Council. We have now done that. We are convinced that DGNB is the most holistic and sustainable certificate and are therefore happy to be associated with it.

A roof over the head – social dormitory ready

KIM

The key is handed over! Our social dormitory in Marzahn is ready. And several months earlier than planned! People in need get a roof over their heads faster this way. Senator Katja Kipping is pleased during one of her last official acts, the Marzahn district councilors Nadja Zivkovic and Juliane Witt both lent a hand themselves, otherwise the building application would not have been approved after a few weeks. We built for Berlinovo and Unionhilfswerk will now operate the house with its own innovative concept. Making Berlin better. Our motto – and lived practice!

Foundation stone – Kindergarden in Ahrensfelde

KIM

A small project for KIM, but a big project for the little ones! And an important one! A lot of heart and soul has gone into the new daycare center in the community of Ahrensfelde, which will be operated by the Stephanus Foundation – to get the project off the ground over many years and to realize it now through our team. In the time capsule, which was sunk at this laying of the foundation stone, there are also some things from our strange times…
The people of Ahrensfeld (and those who want to become one) are eagerly waiting for the daycare center, we know that and we are hurrying: By Christmas (2023!) the daycare center should be ready under the Ahrensfeld tree!

Wellbeing at Work – our theme series

KIM

To kick off our little talk series on Wellbeing at Work, which we are hosting together with our partners Steelcase and Realace, we were at B-Part in Gleisdreick Park. “Mr. Co-Working” Ansgar Oberholz, was there, Prof. Ute Schneider from the renowned architecture firm KCAP, Daniel Bormann from our partner Realace, Kim Le Roux from the young, innovative Berlin office LXSY and Fabian Mottl from our partner Steelcase came from Zurich.

The topic that is currently troubling many:

Website, reception, secretary (m,w,d) – is enough!
Do companies still need places? If so, which ones?

The next appointment will be about indoor certificates – even more directly about Wellbeing at Work. After all, if people do not feel comfortable in their workplace in a comprehensive sense, they will avoid the office. The measures are alle there.

The KIM Policy – Our Sustainability Directive
