The Victoria insurance company building is one of the striking commercial buildings that were erected in Leipzig after reunification. In the immediate vicinity of the market and St. Thomas Church, directly on the Leipziger Ring, the scene of the famous “Monday demonstrations” during the reunification period, across from the “Runde Ecke” (now a museum, formerly the Stasi headquarters), the building characterizes the entrance to Lessing and Käthe Kollwitz Streets.
